Spotfire Analyst: Error: The client requires .NET framework

Upon connecting to a Spotfire server with Analyst client, the following error may be seen.

The Spotfire client version you are running requires .NET Framework, but the server http://spotfire.... does not contain any modules compatible with .NET Framework. Contact your Spotfire administrator if the server needs to be updated.

Solution

This error happens when the core deployment packages have not been added to the deployment area being connected to.

The core deployment package Spotfire.Dxp.sdn has  not been added to the deployment area.

This is found in the Deployement files zip file (e.g. SPOT_sfire_14.0.4.zip). Unzip this package and add the core sdn file to the deployment area.

Upon trying the connection again with the analyst client, the error should have disappeared.
