Problem:
After upgrading Spotfire from version 11.4 to 14.0, users may report that their previously created Spotfire lists are no longer visible or appear to be deleted. This issue is caused by a change in the default storage location for Spotfire lists between versions.
Solution:
The Spotfire lists have not been deleted, but are stored in a different location after the upgrade.
Old list location (v11.4): C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\TIBCO\TIBCO Spotfire Lists
New list location (v14.0): C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Spotfire Lists
To resolve the issue:
- Close Spotfire completely
- Navigate to the old list location
- Copy all files from the old location to the new location
- Reopen Spotfire - the lists should now be visible
For future upgrades, it is recommended that users export their lists or back up the list files before performing a major version upgrade.
If lists are still not visible after following these steps, contact Spotfire support for further assistance.
Note: The change in folder structure is likely due to the transition from Tibco to CSG ownership of Spotfire. No data should have been deleted during the upgrade process.
