In Business Author (BA), chemical structures in a table can be copied to the clipboard.
The copied structures can then be pasted into the structure editor of Structure Search.
Notes
These instructions assume Spotfire 14.0 + LDP + Google Chrome.
The screen layout may vary slightly with different environments, but the steps remain the same.
Procedure
Open any analysis file containing chemical structures in the Web Player.
Switch to Business Author (Edit Mode).
Open the Structure Search interface.
If a search already exists on the page, click the pencil icon.
If not, add it via: Visualization flyout > ChemCharts > Chemistry
Click the clipboard icon located at the bottom-left of the Structure Search screen.
When the following screen appears, click ChemDraw Web Clipboard.
ChemDraw Web Clipboard.exe will be downloaded to a default folder on your PC.
The download location depends on your browser and settings.
If the download is blocked, please unblock it as needed.
Double-click the ChemDraw Web Clipboard.exe to launch the installer.
Proceed by clicking the appropriate buttons: You do not need to change any settings—just click the equivalent of “Yes” on all prompts.
If a previous version is installed, you may see "Old version of ChemDraw Web Clipboard detected. Do you want to uninstall it?". In this case, click Yes.
Return to the previous screen and click Chrome Web Store.
In the Chrome Web Store, click Add to Chrome.
When the following screen appears, click Add Extension.
After returning to the previous screen, check the box Allow extension to run, then click OK.
Close and reopen the analysis file. The copy feature should now be enabled.
Right-click on the ChemCharts table and select Copy to verify that the functionality works.
