Problem:
After "no server" version of Spotfire Analyst application is installed, it doesn't show an option to open any files, including a new local file:


Resolution:
The application is correctly installed, but it is most likely misconfigured due to the fact that previous "server" version of Spotfire application was not fully uninstalled. To resolve the issue, please follow these steps:
1. Uninstall all Spotfire Analyst or Desktop applications in Control Panel > "Add or Remove Programs".
2. Manually delete the following files:
C:\Users\[Current Windows user]\AppData\Local\Spotfire
C:\Users\[Current Windows User]\AppData\Local\TIBCO
You may find only one of these folders, depending on the previously installed version of Spotfire.
3. Next, install again a single user version of Spotfire Analyst application and, during first startup, select the "no server" option::

Now, a "Spotfire Library" option should not be displayed, as this is a server feature, but there should be an option to browse a local file:
