Problem:
This issue might be caused by Spotfire Server version 14.0.8 upgrade process, which can cause custom, multi-level user groups to get incorrect assigned to new licenses (Analyst, Business Author or Consumer). As a result, users that belong to these incorrectly assigned groups, might loose most of their previously available functionality.
Note: this is a known defect and a fix for it should be available in the upcoming 14.0.9 service pack release.

Resolution:
The issue can be resolved by manually changing license assignments for groups where licenses were incorrectly assigned during the upgrade. This can be done in Spotfire Server web admin console on Groups > Licenses and features" page:

Once this change is saved, all previously available Spotfire features should return to affected end users. In some non-standard situations, it might also be necessary to enable or disable some of the individual license features. To test, end users need to close Analyst client and reopen it.
