I am unable to edit the ChemDraw embedded Word documents created using Word for Windows on my Mac OSX.

Since the technology is different (OLE editing in Windows and Round Trip editing in Mac) it is not possible to edit the structures present in the Word document (which was created using ChemDraw for Windows and Word for Windows) on a Mac machine using Word for Mac and ChemDraw for Mac.

The same goes for documents created using Word for Mac and ChemDraw for Mac, which cannot be edited in a Windows computer.

If you want to transfer the structures between Windows to Mac, or Mac to Windows, you will need to transfer the structures as ChemDraw documents (CDX or CDXML format).

When working with MS Office documents, keep a backup ChemDraw document with your structures in case you need to restore the information at some point.
