I enter a name but get the error that a structure cannot be generated for the name I entered.

You might be using a trade name. Although Name to Structure does support some trade names, it is not really meant to interpret trade names. A chemical database like chemfinder.com, is more appropriate for obtaining chemical structures for trade names.
