How can I use ChemDraw for Excel to convert a spreadsheet containing SMILES to ChemDraw structures?

You can convert SMILES to structure using the steps mentioned below. You should have ChemDraw Professional or Signals ChemDraw subscription to do so. Steps are below:

1. Open your Excel spreadsheet containing SMILES.
2. Select the SMILES column.
3. Convert the Excel spreadsheet to a ChemOffice worksheet. For that, go to ChemOffice and select 'Convert Worksheet'. You will get a window to “Select worksheet(s) to process”. Select the “Sheet Name” checkbox and click ‘OK’ to convert.
4. When converted, go to ChemOffice – Convert – SMILES to Molecule.

Result: That will retrieve the structure for that SMILES in that cell on top of the SMILES string in the Excel cell.
