TIBCO Spotfire Server backend registration ports to be specified when installing Node Manager
This article describes the significance of the Spotfire Server's registration and communication ports and how the values are to be entered when installing a Node Manager server.
Node Manager is managed by a Spotfire Server and the communication between Node Manager and Spotfire Server takes place on the following ports (9080 and 9443 which are the default ones).
It is mandatory that the "Server backend registration port" and "Server backend communication port" specified during the Node Manager installation should match with the ports that were used when installing the Spotfire Server. If they happen to be different, the Node will not be listed/visible in "Nodes & Services" and therefore cannot be trusted.
- The ports can be changed/updated in the file "nodemanager.properties" located in Node Manager installation folder "<installation directory>\tsnm\10.10\nm\config".
- Spotfire Server ports that need to be updated in "nodemanager.properties" can be verified from the "server.xml" file located in "<installation directory>\tss\10.10\tomcat\conf"
- Node manager service requires a restart once the changes are made in "nodemanager.properties".
The UI below shows the ports. You may also check the same in "server.xml" located in "<installation folder>\tss\10.10\tomcat\conf"
