Error opening Excel file which contains a Pivot table that uses a "date between" filter in TIBCO Spotfire

When trying to load an Excel file in the TIBCO Spotfire installed client, the data may fail to load with an error message like the following, even when the Excel version is already Excel 97 or newer:

Error message: Unsupported Excel workbook version. Make sure that the file is saved in Excel 97 or newer

  This issue is seen when the Excel file being imported contains a pivot table that uses a "date between" filter. Note: The error message about the unsupported version is misleading.

To resolve, upgrade your TIBCO Spotfire client as this has been fixed in:

• TS 10.3.3 HF-017 and higher
• TS 10.9.0 HF-002 and higher
• TS 10.10 and higher
