Problem:
TIBCO Spotfire Server goes unresponsive intermittently after using Amazon Redshift Driver
Solution:
TIBCO Spotfire Server version 10.3 or higher may become unresponsive when the JDBC Amazon Redshift Driver that comes with the installation is used for data access, and the following errors are seen:
In the Catalina.log

This issue is caused by Amazon Redshift driver that comes with TIBCO Spotfire Server installation bundle. Please follow these steps to resolve this issue:
- Download the latest Amazon Redshift driver from: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/mgmt/configure-jdbc-connection.html#download-jdbc-driver
- Shutdown TIBCO Spotfire Server service
- On the TIBCO Spotfire Server machine, replace the file redshift-jdbc42-no-awssdk.jar in folder <TIBCO Spotfire Server installation directory>\tomcat\webapps\spotfire\WEB-INF\lib\ with the jar-file downloaded in step 1.
- Restart TIBCO Spotfire Server service
- https://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/mgmt/configure-jdbc-connection.html#download-jdbc-driver
