How to add a custom query in a data connection

This article describes how to add your own custom query in a data connection Using TIBCO Spotfire Analyst version 7.14 and lower:

1. Open your Analyst client.
2. Go to File - Add data tables.
3. Click  the "Add" button, go to the section "Connection to" and add your preferred data connection.
4. Logon to your data source.
5. In the "Views in Connection" window, click the "Custom query" button.
6. Add your query.
7. Click the "Verify" button to verify the query is correct.
8. Click OK.

Using TIBCO Spotfire Analyst version 10.0 and higher:

1. Open your Analyst client.
2. Go to the Files and data flyout, click "Connect to" and mark your preferred data connection.
3. Click the "New connection" button and logon your data source.
4. In the "Views in Connection" window, click the "Custom query" button.
5. Add your query.
6. Click the "Verify" button to verify the query is correct.
7. Click OK.

Note: Custom queries must be trusted by a user belonging to the group "Custom Query Author" in order to work in the web clients. For more information on this, please refer to the page Writing Custom Queries in the Spotfire Analyst User's Guide
