Product: TIBCO Spotfire®
TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client fails to launch, with this error: 'The server has an older Spotfire client deployment than the version you are running or no deployment at all'.
When launching the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst Client and logging in to a server, you may receive the following error and not be allowed to launch the client:
- "The server http://myTSS/ (myProductionDeploymentArea) has an older Spotfire client deployment than the version you are running or no deployment at all. Contact your Spotfire administrator if the server needs to be updated. Log into a different server, or select Work Offline, to continue working with this Spotfire version."
This error means that the Spotfire client deployment uploaded using the Deployment tab on Spotfire Server's Administration Console has not been updated, and this Spotfire client deployment either doesn't exist yet or is an older version than the Spotfire client deployment that your local TIBCO Spotfire installed client already has.
To resolve this issue, your Spotfire administrator needs to download the latest Spotfire software deployment kit or the latest Spotfire client hotfix, then upload its "Spotfire.Dxp.sdn" file to the deployment area on the TIBCO Spotfire Server (using Open Administration Console > 'Deployment' tab).
Alternatively, if the TIBCO Spotfire installed client is a newer major version (for example, 7.11 whereas the TIBCO Spotfire Server is still running 7.9 with a 7.9 client deployment) then you will need to uninstall the new version of the client you have and reinstall a version of the client which matches the TIBCO Spotfire Server.
For comprehensive help about how to deploy updates and packages, see the TIBCO Spotfire Server Deployment and Administration Manual, which is available in the Documentation folder of the Spotfire software deployment kit.
