"Linked to source" changes to "Embedded in analysis" when reports are saved to library but works fine when saved locally.

Problem:

"Linked to source" changes to "Embedded in analysis" when reports are saved to library but works fine when saved locally.


Solution:

"Linked to source" changes to "Embedded in analysis" when reports are saved to library but works fine when saved locally. This issue appears due to the preference which is set for one or multiple groups which the user is member of.

Go to Tools >> Administration Manager >> Preferences >> Select the Group >> Application >> Library Preference .

Check the Property "ForceEmbedAllData" . The value should be either Empty or "False". See the attached file (Filename:LibraryPreferences.PNG). Change the value to either Empty or "False" if it was set to "True" and again save the file in the library. Now you will be able to save the file as "Linked to Source". 

Note : Check the property for all the groups the user is a member of. If the property is set to "True" for any one group, the user will not be able to save the DXP file in a library as a " Linked to Source".
