How to plot background image with markers and pies in MAP CHART (TIBCO Spotfire version 6.X onwards).

In TIBCO Spotfire 5.5 , map type "Background image with Markers and pies" was directly available and we could plot this by selecting the image and X/Y columns, but from Spotfire 6.X onwards, map was introduced with different layers and coordinate reference System. Following are the instructions to achieve "Background image with Markers and pies" from Spotfire version 6.X onwards.

Steps to add Markers with background image in MAP CHART :

1). Add a Map Chart in Spotfire version 6.X onwards.

2). Right click on Map chart and go to Properties.

3). Under Appearance , select "None" for Coordinate reference System.

4). Under Layers , Uncheck or Remove the Map layer, so that no map comes in background. 

5). Add an Image layer and select the image you want to work with. Select "None" for Coordinate reference System.

6). In the Marker Layer settings, under Data select "None" for Coordinate reference System.

7). Under Positioning scroll down and set the Coordinate columns from the concerned Data Table.

8). Shape and Size marker as per your needs.
