Description:
When trying to install Tibco Spotfire Professional Client on a Windows Server with a normal user account that does not have administrator privilege you get an error;

When trying to install Tibco Spotfire Professional Client on a Windows Server with a normal user account that does not have administrator privilege, the following error is reported:

Cause:
Local Windows software restriction policies.
NOTE: Always make a backup of the registry before making any changes to it. The solution mentioned below is generic and applies to any version of Microsoft Windows, where the issue may be seen.
1). Click Start, type "regedit" and hit Enter.
Locate the following:HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
Create: DisableMSI Type: REG_DWORD value = 0 (0 should allow you to install)
2). Browse to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\
Browse through and find your product (Which will be TIBCO/Spotfire in our case). Delete the keys (TIBCO/Spotfire)
