Markers are not positioned at the expected location on Map Chart
When configuring a Map Chart based on your data, the markers (data points) on the marker layer of a Map Chart may not be positioned at the expected locations on the map. For example, you have some data for the United States in North America, but the markers are located near Africa on the Map Chart.
There may be multiple reasons why your data is not appearing where expected. To resolve:
1) Check the geocoding coordinating reference system that is used and make sure it is the correct one for your map/data. This can be checked in Map Chart Properties > Layers > Select the Marker Layer and go to Settings > Data > Coordinate reference system. See the references for more information.
2). If Coordinate columns are used for the positioning of the markers (data points), double check if the correct columns are used for latitude and longitude. This can be checked in Map Chart Properties > Layers > Select the Marker Layer and go to Settings > Positioning > Coordinate columns. For the example mentioned above, switching the columns used for latitude and longitude would bring the incorrect data points from near Africa to the correct locations in North America.
