How to enable debug logging on Spotfire Server and Node Manager in Web UI
Description:
Follow the steps below for enabling debug logging on all Spotfire servers in your cluster.
You may decide to selectively enable debug logging for only some servers because it can be tricky to foresee which one that will contain the logs for the issue you will be troubleshooting. If you are unsure, it is generally better to enable debugging for all servers.
Note: Instructions for versions 7.9 and higher and included under sub-steps
Spotfire server nodes
1. Open a browser and log in to your Spotfire server as admin.
2. Click on "Monitoring & Diagnostics".
3. Under "Spotfire servers" click on the checkbox to the left to select one or multiple Spotfire servers if you have many
4. To the right, click on "Set log configuration".
5. Select "log4j-debug.properties" from the drop down list and click "OK".
Note: For version 7.9 and higher - Select 'DEBUG' from the drop down list and click "OK".
After you are done troubleshooting and no longer need debugging, remember to reset the logging level to "log4j.properties" (or 'INFO' for version 7.9 and higher).
Node Manager
