Analysis files opened in the Web player are unexpectedly closed and the user is logged out
This only applies to environments NOT using a Single Sign On authentication method such as Kerberos, Client certificate or NTLM. Due to changes in functionality in versions 7.5 (and higher) of TIBCO Spotfire Server, you can experience users being logged out of an active Web Player session. A configuration setting in TIBCO Spotfire Server 7.5 (absolute-session-timeout) causes users to be logged out of analysis files open in the Web Player when the time limit is reached. The default value is set to 1440 minutes (24 hours) in new installations of Spotfire Server 7.5. For systems upgraded from an earlier version af Spotfire Server, the value will be set to 1440 unless a custom value was specified in the old installation. If a custom value was specified in the old installation, then that will be retained in the upgraded installation. To avoid users being logged out, you can do one or more of the following:
- Increase the "absolute-session-time" value in the Server configuration tool. See how to do this in the Spotfire server manual.
- Make sure to check the checkbox labeled, "Keep me logged in", when logging into the Web player.
- Use a Single Sign On authentication method on the Spotfire Server. See the different authentication methods and how to set them up in the Spotfire server manual.
