How to roll back hotfixes on TIBCO Spotfire Advanced Data Services.

Description:
In case you need to roll back to an earlier version of a hotfix for TIBCO Spotfire Advanced Data Services (i.e., Cisco (Composite) Information Server), e.g., if you have applied a later version for testing or if you have come across any compatibility issues using the later version, you will be able to roll back without any additional downloads. 1). Stop the Cisco (Composite) Information Server.

2). Execute the rollback script for the hotfix  for which you want to roll back to the previously applied one. This is located at:

- Windows: <CIS_install_directory>\install\rollback_hotfix_<release.patch.hotfix> 

Example, rollback_hotfix_6.2.6.00.20_SP6.bat

- UNIX / Linux: <CIS_install_directory>/install/rollback_hotfix_<release.patch.hotfix>.sh

Example, rollback_hotfix_6.2.6.00.20_SP6.sh

Note:  In the examples above, <release.patch.hotfix> corresponds to 6.2.6.00.20

3). Restart Cisco (Composite) Information Server.

Note: Some hotfixes changes the metadata repository database as well, the rollback functionality does not take this into account so it is always recommended to take full installation backups before applying any hotfix you have not tested earlier.
