Problem:
How to fix the "Internal plot error" issue
Solution:
How to replicate the issue:
- Open an analysis file in Spotfire Analyst
- Save it into the Spotfire Library
- Open the saved analysis file on the WebPlayer (there is no issue at this step)
- Add analysis file to the Scheduled Updates
- As soon as the analysis file has been loaded according to the Scheduled Updates and any bars on a Bar Chart has been selected the error message "Internal plot error" appears
Root cause of the issue:
There is a mismatch in culture settings and decimal settings between a user who runs the Tibco Spotfire Node Manager Service and a user who uses an analysis file.
Resolution:
- Run the Tibco Spotfire Node Manager Service with a domain user who has the same settings (culture settings, decimal settings) like a user who opens an analysis file on the WebPlayer.
- Go to the machine where the Tibco Spotfire Node Manager is installed > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > right click on the Tibco Spotfire Node Manager Service > Log on tab > Log on as: This account
