Connecting to Cloudera Impala using LDAP and SASL does not work when using the Cloudera Impala ODBC driver 2.5.30 or higher.
Product: TIBCO Spotfire Connectors
Version: 4.0 HF-008 and earlier, 4.5 (no hotfix)
OS: All Supported Operating Systems
--------------------
Using the Cloudera Impala connector with LDAP/SASL authentication fails after upgrading to the latest Cloudera Impala ODBC driver (2.5.30 or higher).
When trying to load data, the following error is reported:
Could not connect due to an unknown error.
External error:
ERROR [HY000] [Cloudera][ThriftExtension] (5) Error occurred while contacting server: No more data to read.. This could be because you are trying to establish a non-SSL connection to a SSL-enabled server.
ERROR [HY000] [Cloudera][ThriftExtension] (5) Error occurred while contacting server: No more data to read.. This could be because you are trying to establish a non-SSL connection to a SSL-enabled server.
The SASL authentication is changed in the later Cloudera Implala ODBC drivers.
Apply the latest TIBCO Spotfire Connectors hotfix. The fix is included in the following Connectors hotfix
versions:
• 4.0 HF-009 and later
• 4.5 HF-001 and later
