Problem:
How to add a new column to a data table to reflect rows in current filtering?
Solution:
The method is to insert an action control button to add a new column depending on filters.
- Insert a text area on the same page as the table visualization. When you are in the “Edit Text Area” mode, click on the button to insert action control.
- In the action control dialog, click on the “Actions” button. Enter the display text.
- In the “Available actions” section, click on the plus sign before “Functions” to view the full list of functions.
- Select “Mark Filtered Rows”. Click “Add”.
- Select “Filter to Marked Rows”. Click “Add”.
- Select “Unmark Marked Rows”. Click “Add”.
- The order of the above three actions cannot be changed. Please make sure “Mark Filtered Rows” is the first function and “Unmark Marked Rows” is the last function.
- Click “OK”. Save the text area edit.
- Now, change the filters and click on the action button you just added.
- You will notice that a new column will be added. The name of the column is “Filtered to at [time]” with values “Yes” and “No”. Rows with “Yes” are those you have filtered to. Rows with “No” are those you have filtered out.
- If you change your filter, click on the action control button again to update the column.
