Problem:

How to include filter settings when exporting to PDF from TIBCO Spotfire Analyst


Solution:

  • Any given Spotfire Analysis when exported may also include 'Filter Settings'. This article gives an overview of how we can achieve the same using PDF Export across various Spotfire versions.
  • The Export to PDF in Spotfire 7.9 is an older version of the Export to PDF feature. From TIBCO Spotfire 10.0 onward an enhanced Export to PDF version also has been included.
  • In version 7.11 of the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst, Filter Settings is under File > Export >To PDF(Compatibility version).

Note: 
i)  To enable option 'Export to PDF' which is deprecated in Spotfre Web Player 7.11 and higher, please see article How to enable/disable option Export to PDF which is deprecated in Spotfre Web Player 7.11 and higher
           ii) In TIBCO Spotfire 10.0 and higher, should you want to Export to PDF(Deprecated) then this option                    can be found in below location, 
             Go to File > Export > To PDF-7.9 version [Deprecated].. > Under 'General' tab, select 'Filter settings' .
  • From TIBCO Spotfire 10.0 onward, this option can also be found under Export to PDF > Prepared report
Go to File > Export > To PDF > select 'Prepared report' > choose the 'Contents' to be included and > under 'Headers and Footers' select 'Filtered values' as 'what to display' > Export the Visualisation to PDF
