Problem:

TIBCO Spotfire Authentication fails with the error in server.log "Server.security.SecurityFilter: Internal error when authenticating user java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string"


Solution:

Authentication fails with the error in server.log

"Server.security.SecurityFilter: Internal error when authenticating user java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string"

Cause:

The above error is generally caused if the NTLM configuration is invalid
?
  - Logon to the Spotfire configuration GUI 
- Check the DNS server names specified in Advanced settings DNS server section are correct  e.g for the error
"Server.security.SecurityFilter: Internal error when authenticating user java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "92de:f07b::92de:f07b", the DNS Server name "92de:f07b::92de:f07b" is incorrect  see image NTLMConfiguration.png
