Problem:
The 'FirstValidBefore' function is not visible inside the function list in TIBCO Spotfire Analyst
Solution:
The 'FirstValidBefore' function is not visible inside the function list of the calculated column/Custom expression window but if you use it by manually typing it then it works fine.
To avoid any older analysis file(s) from breaking or getting invalid by renaming of function, we kept 'FirstValidBefore' hidden and don't promote it in the user interface(UI). Below is the reference image which actually explains the working method of 'LastValidBefore' function:
