Problem:
Creating and executing a ”Remap Data Sources” Automation Services job
Solution:
How to setup a "Remap Data Sources" Automation Services job:
- Create the Automation Services job via “Automation Services Job Builder”, found under Tools menu in Spotfire Analyst.
- In the “Remap Data Sources” Settings window, do the following:
- Choose a certificate (needed in order to secure data source password).
- Browse to the directory where the data source is saved.
- Manually add the name of data source to be remapped.
- Add the new connection string, to which the data source should be remapped
- If needed, change password in “Password” field.
- Save the job via File – Save As File/Save As Library Item.
- Prerequisite 1: The certificate chosen in the settings for the job, also needs to be installed on the Node manager running the Automation Services.
- Prerequisite 2: Make sure the Automation Services User has write access to the folder containing the data source.
- Prerequisite 3: Make sure to add the license “TIBCO Spotfire Information Modeler” for the Automation Services Users group (done in Administration manager, found in Analyst client – Tools menu).
Executing the job:
Spotfire version 7.14 and older:
Use the Client Job Sender in order to execute the job.

Spotfire version 10 and newer:
You can user the Client Job Sender OR you can setup to schedule the job via Spotfire administration interface.
Instructions on how this is done can be found here: https://docs.tibco.com/pub/spotfire_server/10.1.0/doc/html/TIB_sfire_server_tsas_admin_help/GUID-1891A737-803F-4680-9F44-66D988F06614.html
