Problem:
Performance issue when executing data functions against TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services server due to many old *.SBDF files present inside data\artifacts\spotfire folder.
Solution:
There may be performance issues when executing data functions in the installed client or Web Player against a TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services (TSSS) server. In this case, there are many old files present in the <TSSS-Install directory>\data\artifacts\spotfire folder. This issue can be caused by many old *.SBDF files present in the \data\artifacts\spotfire folder on TSSS installation which take a significant amount of disk space.
- <TSSS-Install directory>\data\artifacts\spotfire
1). On Spotfire 7.6 or earlier versions:
It is safe to delete left over files from the \data\artifacts\spotfire folder from TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services installation directory.
Follow the steps below.
- Stop the TSSS service.
- Take backup of \data\artifacts folder from <TSSS-Install directory> .
- Delete all files from \data\artifacts\spotfire .
- Start the TSSS service.
2). Use client version TIBCO Spotfire 7.7 or higher
The clean up process has been improved in the installed client and Web Player version 7.7 and higher which prevents this issue from occurring.
