Overview
Users can bulk delete published data via the Inventa Dashboard. After uploading a file that contains the Unique Result IDs, Batch IDs, and Compound IDs for each published row, and then providing the associated Measurement Type and Map, users can choose “Bulk Delete” to permanently delete those records from Data Factory. The setting for System Generated Unique Result IDs must be disabled by an Administrator in order to use the Bulk Delete feature.
Instructions
Prerequisite: Admin needs to have turned off System Generated Unique Result IDs
- The Enable System Generated Unique Result ID setting in Data Factory Signals Configuration must be disabled.
- If this is not done, the option to bulk delete will not be available to end users.
- The setting can be located by navigating to Signals Configuration>Data Factory>Unique Result IDs:
Step 1: Create a CSV file containing the Unique Result IDs, Batch IDs, and Compound IDs for the published data you want to delete from your project.
- You can use Global Search or Integrated Summary App to find, filter, and export the data you'd like to delete into a CSV file
- You can also manually create/edit a CSV file
- At minimum, the CSV file must contain the following 3 columns to identify the associated published data rows in Data Factory (but additional columns can also be included)
- Unique Result ID
- Batch ID
- Compound ID
Step 2: Access the Inventa Dashboard and open the Publish option for the Project where you want to delete data.
- Open Inventa Dashboard
- Navigate to Data Factory Projects section
- Click the Publish button for your project
Step 3: Upload the file then select the associated Measurement Type and Mapping Name
- Upload the .CSV file containing the data you wish to delete
You can provide additional columns for each row, but the 3 minimum required to perform a bulk delete are the Unique Result ID, Batch ID and Compound ID
Select the appropriate Measurement Type/Entity and Mapping Name
- Important Note: Make sure you select the same measurement type or entity that was used when publishing the data. In addition to the Unique Result ID, Batch ID, and Compound ID, this is used to further identify and confirm the correct data for deletion. If you use a new measurement type or entity that was not used when publishing the data, the bulk delete will not successfully remove the data.

Specify formatting for required columns if requested (for example, Assay Date as mm/dd/yyyy)
- Click Bulk Delete, then confirm Delete Data
- The deletion is permeant and cannot be undone, please proceed with caution
