It is our pleasure to announce the release of ChemDraw v26.0 for ChemDraw Prime, Professional & Signals ChemDraw. This release delivers several key enhancements that support chemistry improvements and advanced biopolymer rendering capabilities. ChemDraw+ continues to grow with new property calculations, HELM capabilities, expanded file format support, notebook workflow enhancements and significant accessibility improvements. We've also addressed several bugs to ensure a smoother experience.

ChemDraw v26 Updates

Chemistry Improvements
- Chemical property calculations are now faster.
- LogP calculations are now limited to improve performance.
- Atomic weights have been updated for select elements.
- A new stereochemical warning is now shown for invalid stereo bonds.
- 3D structure viewing is now clearer during movement.

Advanced Biopolymer (HELM) Improvements
There have been many improvements to biopolymer support, including:
- Hairpin sequences are now supported
- Crosslinking between sequences has been improved for visual clarity
- Multiple complementary strands can now be connected to a single RNA/DNA sequence
- Selecting a routed bond between sequences now highlights the entire bond rather than only the center section.
Python Support
- ChemScript now supports Python versions 3.14, 3.13, 3.12, 3.10, and 3.9.
Available in Signals ChemDraw
- Installer checksums are now accessible from the ‘ChemDraw Installers’ tile in the Signals Home portal
ChemDraw+
Exclusive to Signals ChemDraw offering and released continuously throughout the year in the Signals Platform, ChemDraw+ is a cloud-native version of ChemDraw allowing you to create, manage and curate your drawings in the web.
Chemistry Improvements
- Calculate LogP & pKa in the Analysis panel
- Turn on Atom Numbers for chemical objects
- Highlight coloring now available for chemical objects
Advanced Biopolymer (HELM) Improvements
- HELM editor now supports monomer structure searching
- Generate hairpins from a single oligonucleotide
- Generate hairpins with pendant linkers or peptides
- Preserve user-defined hydrogen bonds when auto-pairing
- Auto-pair selected oligonucleotide fragments
- Support for mutli-strand and branched biopolymers
Expanded Application Capabilities
- Context sensitive floating toolbars in the drawing editor
- Import options have expanded to accept MOL, SD, RXN & RD files
- Export options have expanded to support MOL, SD & RXN files
- Notebook & Drawing properties
- Notebook & Drawing descriptions are now available & editable in the application
- Drag & Drop support for RXN, SD & RD files in the ChemDraw editor
- Add drawing to a notebook from its detail page
- Copy drawings into a notebook
- Rename notebooks directly from the breadcrumb
- List view filtering by name, creator of last modified date to more easily find drawings and notebooks
- Accessibility improvements towards WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
- Improved color contrast, focus states, and navigation cues
- Expanded keyboard support across navigation, toolbars, and popovers
- Enhanced screen reader support with better labels, headings, link text, and dialog names
- Improved form accessibility, error messaging, and autocomplete behavior
