Overview
With Parallel Experiments, you can upload an external file (.csv, .sdf, or .rdf) to define the enumeration using an External Enumerator element, instead of the default Enumerator element. For more information, refer to the following knowledge base article:
Signals Notebook: How to add an “External Enumerator” in a parallel experiment
After uploading the file, you must manually map the fields in the external file to the enumeration fields in the Parallel Experiment. This article explains how to create a reusable Parallel Experiment template that preserves the mapping information, eliminating the need to repeat manual mapping each time.
Steps to create a reusable template
- Create a Parallel Experiment. If your Parallel Experiment does not already include an External Enumerator element, follow the knowledge base article referenced above to add one.
- Upload your external file to the External Enumerator element, either by clicking to upload or by dragging and dropping the file onto the element.
-
Complete the field mapping for all necessary fields across all required tabs.
-
Save the experiment as a template. After completing the mapping, click the Actions menu (the vertical three-dot menu ⋮) and select "Save as Template".
- Name and save the template. Enter a name for the template and save it. The mapping information is preserved within the template.
- Reuse the template for future experiments. When creating a new Parallel Experiment that uses an external file in the same format, select this template. The saved mapping information will be applied automatically as the default.
