Signals Notebook: Can I transfer configuration between tenants?

Description

Organizations may need to migrate partial or complete configuration from a Development/Source tenant to a Production/Target tenant. Revvity Signals Notebook has a tool available for this task, CTT (Configuration Transfer Tool), to transfer configuration components, including experiment templates, between tenants.

Aspects to consider before transferring the configuration:

• Access Signals Notebook with Administrator privileges (CTT is only available to system administrators)
• Have a source and target tenant with the same Signals Notebook version.
• If the users are checked during configuration import, those users will be added to the target tenant.

Steps:

From the source tenant: Once the Attributes, ADOs, Templates, etc. are approved.

1. Navigate to System configuration.
2. From the left panel, go to Import/Export configuration.
3. Click on Export configurations: Export file for import. (The file export will prompt you to add a security password; this password will be required to import the file in the target tenant).
4. Save the file in a secure location.

From the target tenant: 

1. Navigate to System configuration.
2. From the left panel, go to Import/Export configuration.
3. Click on Select file to upload, drag and drop. 
4. When you select the file, the system will begin to load the file and prompt you for the file password. 
5. Once the load is completed, click on Import configurations. (This pop-up window allows the admin to fully import all the configurations or partially import, using the check box for each).

6. Choose what you need to import, make sure all mandatory dependencies are selected (non-mandatory items might be required), and click Import configurations.

   

This window will display warning icons for mandatory (Red) and non-mandatory (Yellow) items.

• You can filter the options list.
• You can hover over warning icons and errors to get more details.
• The CTT tool has an import report once completed (hover-over is available here).
