If Spotfire Server machine's IP address is changed, then the following configuration update is required:
1. Stop all Spotfire Servers and Node Managers (assuming this is a cluster with multiple servers).
2. Create a new bootstrap file on each Spotfire Server using Spotfire Server Configuration tool:
https://docs.tibco.com/pub/spotfire_server/14.0.6/doc/html/TIB_sfire_server_tsas_admin_help/server/topics/creating_the_bootstrap.xml_file.html
All information in the bootstrap file will remain the same, but, as a result of having a new IP address, Spotfire database will be updated with a new record for each Spotfire Server node.
3. Start Spotfire Servers, one at a time, waiting until each one fully start up before starting the next one.
4. Locate old Spotfire Server references in Spotfire Server web admin console on Nodes&Services page in Servers list. They should now show up as "offline" and grayed out. They can be removed by selecting them and clicking "delete" button.
5. Start all Node Managers. Unlike Spotfire Servers, they can be started all together, without delays.
6. If you see that Node Managers start and show up as available in Nodes&Services, no further steps are needed.
7. If Node Manager nodes fail to start, you'll need to clean up the old keystore from both the Spotfire Server and the Node Manager machines using these instructions:
- Stop the Spotfire Node Manager service.
- Login to Spotfire web administration console.
- From within the Nodes & Services section, revoke trust for the Node.
- Go to untrusted nodes tab and delete the node from there. (Note: Please repeat the first 3 steps for every Node Manager machine in the cluster).
- Now, stop the Spotfire Server service.
- On the Spotfire Server, go to <Spotfire server installation directory>\nm\trust" and delete the keystore file here.
- On the Node Manager server, go to "<Spotfire Node Manager installation directory>\nm\trust" and delete the certificate keystore file here.
Note: Repeat the previous 2 steps for every Spotfire Server and Node Manager in the cluster.
- Start the Spotfire Server service (this will create a new keystore file on the Spotfire Server machine).
- Start the Node Manager service.
- Login to Spotfire web administration console, go to "Nodes & Services-> Untrusted nodes" and wait for the node to show up.
- Once the node shows up in the "Untrusted Nodes", trust the node.
