Spotfire Automation Services: Sent email messages arrive with empty images

Problem:

The png images within email messages sent via Automation Services are blank or empty.

Solution:
Check the Automation Services Spotfire.Dxp.Worker.Host.exe configuration file and confirm that the following option is set to -1, or at least a sensible value:

<setting name="ExportRendererCount" serializeAs="String">
  <value>-1</value>
</setting>

If this value is large, it can cause the Renderer to not work. Use -1 for default number of processes.
