Keywords: IronPython 2.0, Linux, Web Player 12.0.
Details:
From Spotfire 12.0, you can now run Web Player on a Linux server.
This is achieved due to Microsoft creating a .Net variant that runs on Linux.
Unfortunately Microsoft considered IronPython 2.0 to be obsolete and did not include this within the Linux version of .Net. This means that any Spotfire reports that use IronPython 2.0 will not run on these Web Players.
Solution:
Find all reports that use IronPython 2.0 and manually edit these reports. This cannot be automated because there are some differences between IronPython 2.0 and 2.7. Changes would need a human to correct as required. Use the following command:
config find-analysis-scripts
Search the report for:
;IronPython;2.0.2
Alternatively:
Switch to using a Windows OS for your Web Player and Automation Service Nodes.
