Details:
When launching a Spotfire Web Player session in Edge web browser, you get a login page as expected. Once you specify Spotfire server URL and submit your login credentials, the next page renders a Spotfire page, also as expected. However, if you inspect closely the browser window, you will notice that now the browser has switched to Internet Explorer, as marked by the blue "e" icon toward the top left of the browser window. You can navigate through Spotfire web administration pages and the Library, but if you try to open any analysis file, instead of the browser rendering its content, you just get a blank page.
Solution:
It is likely that your Spotfire server endpoint URL has been designated by your corporation to use IE11 mode when rendering pages. For many reasons it is proper to have this setting changed, so that web pages rendered by the Spotfire server will continue to use Edge browser mode, rather than switch to Internet Explorer mode.
This setting is most likely enforced or persisted via domain level group policies. It is recommended to work with domain administrators to roll out modifications to this setting, so that browsers starting as Edge sessions will remain as Edge sessions.
