How do I transfer my custom HELM monomers files to a new computer?

If you customized your HELM Monomers Toolbar, and will transfer your license to a new computer, you can just replace the files on your new computer by copying the ones from your old machine.

Also, if you need to remove and reinstall the software, it is recommended that you make backups of these files to restore them after reinstalling the software.

• In ChemDraw/ChemOffice 21.0 for Windows or older versions, the files are located here (This example is using version 21.  For other versions just replace with the path for your specific version):

C:\ProgramData\PerkinElmerInformatics\ChemOffice2021\ChemDraw\ChemDraw Items\Monomers

• In ChemDraw/ChemOffice 22 and later, the files are located here:

C:\ProgramData\PerkinElmerInformatics\ChemOffice\ChemDraw\ChemDraw Items\Monomers

• In MacOS you need to follow these steps to access the monomer files:

1. Go to your Applications folder and locate the ChemDraw icon.
2. Right-click (or Control+Click) in ChemDraw and select Show Package Contents
3. Click on Contents > Resources > Special Purpose > Monomers

After copying the files, launch ChemDraw and go to File > Preferences > Monomer Libraries (ChemDraw > Preferences in MacOS).  Sync Status will indicate if the libraries were synchronized correctly.
