Signals Notebook: How can I add a compound without a chemical structure?

To be able to add a compound without a chemical structure please go to Configuration >> Material >> Compounds >> Uniqueness Rule.

Toggle off the option Structure Properties then go to Record Definition and uncheck the Chemical Structure Required checkbox and save the changes. 
 
That would allow you to create compounds without a chemical structure.
