Details:
When deploying the BioTech Bundle 1.4, below are some follow-up items to address. Note that these items are stated in the context of selecting the option 1 "Deploy on Biotech Blueprint core Quick Start". These comments may apply to Option 2 and 3 also.
1. The Public Address node of the Spotfire Config Tool is disabled by default, which may result in the Analyst client being unable to log in. After deploying this Biotech Bundle it would be appropriate to enable the Public Address setting and enter the value for a suitable URL value.
2. After deploying the BioTech Bundle it is important to customize security settings per your organization's requirements. An example is the AWS instance that the *.yaml file creates. The yaml script of Option 1 (as specified by the BTB Quick Start Guide) results in a VPC whose inbound rules in AWS are open to traffic from all sources; 0.0.0.0/0. For security purposes it is recommended to create inbound rule filters, to limit HTTP access to specific client ip addresses that are expected to use this deployment. Paste from the Quick Start Guide: "The security group setup by this Quick Start allows inbound traffic on port 80 (http) and 3389 (RDP) for all IP addresses routable to the subnet."
Solution: Implement Spotfire and AWS configuration changes as stated above. Although this article was prepared for BTB v1.4, it will likely apply to future versions also.
