The idea behind having an ELN includes having all data related to an experiment in one place, which could often result in a large experiment or an experiment with large information items.
Some customers will get the message PRINTING PDF FAILED: please try again or contact support. Before getting in touch with support, you should follow some troubleshooting steps:
- Look for a workaround: For this issue, we have found a valid workaround, which is to render the experiment in two or more sections. The number of sections will depend on each experiment. You can achieve this by un-checking the box for Print entire experiment, and selecting which portion of the experiment you want to render.
- The second step is to uncheck the Embed documents as attachment box. This can create an overhead of data that adds up to the time it takes to render the experiment.
- The third step is related to the workaround, finding out where the export breaks. For this one, uncheck the print entire experiment box and scroll down to select the sections of the experiment to export. You can start at the half and add sections until you find the limit, and then break it into the best number of PDF documents that suits your needs.
