Scope
This article is for administrators of a SAML-integrated Signals Notebook tenant.
Problem
You want to configure the tenant to require authentication when signing experiments and/or signing off on reviews. "Force User Authentication" is enabled in the SAML settings, but users are not prompted to authenticate when signing an experiment.
Solution
The "Force User Authentication" setting in the SAML configuration does not control authentication in signing workflows. To enable authentication prompts during signing, follow the steps below.
- Navigate to System Objects — As an administrator, go to Signals Configuration → System Objects.
- Open the Experiment object — Select the "Experiment" system object.
- Access Workflow settings — Click "Workflows" in the left navigation panel.
- Enable signing authentication — Under the Signing Settings section, check "Prompt all users for their password before signing" to require authentication when a user signs an experiment.
- Enable review authentication — Under the Review Signing Settings section, check "Prompt all users for their password before signing off on review" to require authentication when a reviewer signs off on a review.
- Click [Save Settings] button to save the changes.
Note: If authentication is also required for your custom Admin Defined Objects, repeat steps 2–6 for each relevant system objects.
