Register an individual Material to a Material library in Signals

✔ Material library must be activated.

✔ Permissions to add Materials must be granted.

*Required.

1️⃣ Signals Dashboard ➡ select [Materials]
2️⃣ Materials ➡ select [down arrow] ➡ select material type
3️⃣ Materials ➡ select [Add new] ➡ select [Individual material type]
4️⃣ Material ➡ Asset Properties ➡ enter properties
5️⃣ Material ➡ select [Register Material]

When entering properties be aware of required fields such as Chemical Name.

For chemistry aware libraries, chemical structure may be required.

For Cell Lines, Antibodies, Equipment, Primers and other Materials that accept images, the image file size limit is 5mb. 

For Plasmids or other biological libraries, a sequence file may be required.

Supported file types: 

• DNA sequences - *.fa, *.fasta, *.dna, *.gb, *.gbk. 
• Protein sequences - *.fa, *.fasta, *.faa, *.gp, *.prot, *.sw
• RNA sequences - *.fa, *.fasta, *.rna, *.gb, *.gbk

Optionally, to avoid disruptive formatting errors when copy-pasting content from websites or other third-party sources, users can select the [Clear formatting] option from the text toolbar.
