Limitations of editing online:

• Editing can be done with the web version of Microsoft 365 only if users have a license for it. 
• The web version of Microsoft 365 has file size restrictions for editing in the browser, but there are no file size limits for uploading a document.
• Users can keep working while a file is being uploaded.

Microsoft 365 simultaneous editing:

• Multiple users can edit the same web document in Microsoft 365.
• Editing the web version of the document prevents editing in Microsoft 365 Desktop.
• If the first user to edit the file edits in the web version of Microsoft 365, the file is locked to all other users; however, users will be presented with the option to release the lock and edit the file.
