Product:TIBCO Spotfire Analyst
Versions:All
Summary:
Some anti-malware software may report TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client temp folders to be suspicious. This article explains why and what should be done.
Details:
When users launch TIBCO Spotfire installed client and work on it, there may be a few folders / files created within the Windows user profile's temp folder of that user who is logged in.
These temporary files / folders may be flagged by certain anti-malware applications as suspicious because the files contained within these folders may have double extensions (Ex:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\TIBCO\Spotfire\<version>\Misc-<number>\
Resolution:
These are expected temp files used by the Spotfire application and there has to be exceptions setup within the anti-malware applications to not scan the TIBCO folder as these are working folders when the Analyst is opened and they will be removed when the Analyst is closed.
