Details:
Spotfire dxp files can be embedded in a Signals Notebook experiment. In a recent case, the Edge browser closed unexpectedly during the user's attempt to launch the dxp from such as experiment.
Steps:
1. User launched Edge browser and logged into Signals Research Suite.
2. User clicked on a 'Recent' Notebook experiment , which successfully opened it, which repopulated the same tab in Edge. This experiment is mostly empty.
3. User clicked on the Spotfire file 'Untitled.dxp' from the left margin, which resulted in a display of its image, again in the same browser tab.
4. User unlocked the dxp (via icon in top right corner) and then clicked the 'Edit in Spotfire Analyst' button.
5. The TIBCO Signals for Spotfire app launched and the login displayed.
6. The user selected the Spotfire server, whose url matches that of the currently logged in SRS, entered credentials, and clicked 'Log in'.
7. A new browser tab displayed 'Authentication successful', while Analyst loaded extensions in its own window.
Issue: at this point, every few seconds another pair of browser tabs are automatically generated. The tab title is 'Signals Login' and the content is a log screen. The Edge browser crashed, the window vanished, after about 12 tabs existed.
Resolution: The user re-installed Analyst and then did not have this problem again. If this issue is experienced, please reach out to the Revvity Signals Support Team.
