Enable Material registration through a Material Table from the Signals Configuration

For Administrators only.

*Required.

1️⃣ Signals Configuration ➡ select [Materials]
2️⃣ Material Types pane ➡ select Material library ➡ select Material Table
3️⃣ Material Table section ➡ select [Enable] ➡ Duplicate Resolution* ➡ select option
4️⃣ Material Table section ➡ select [Save]

Supporting Knowledge

• The enable check box allows users to:
  • Register new materials from the material table (except for Compounds and Reagents).
  • Create new lots/batches from the material table.
  • Create child materials, which have an internal reference to the material from which it originated (e.g., a Plasmid generated in a Bacteria).
    • To enable this option, the Internal Reference type “Lineage-Parent” must be created, and when a user creates a child material of the same type as its parent, they will have the option to copy parent fields to the child material.
• Available Duplicate Resolutions:
  • Don't Submit Duplicates: duplicates will not be registered.
  • Treat as Unique: duplicates will be registered as a new asset.
  • Use Matches: duplicates will be registered as a batch/lot of the existing asset.
