Signals Notebook: By modifying the configuration of a material, are the existing materials also modified?

Actually, it is possible to modify the configuration of an existing material library in Signals Notebook. To illustrate, you can incorporate new fields or modify the ID sequence of the materials in a material library. Do these changes also modify the existing materials? 

Answer: Existing materials are not modified, since it is not possible to overwrite existing materials. Only materials created after changing the configuration of a material library will show the changes made.
