When your administrator users enable the "Automatic User Creation" feature after completing SSO integration with your Signals Notebook tenant, the system automatically creates new user accounts when users log in via your Identity Provider (IdP). This article explains how the required user profile properties are populated during this process.
Required User Properties
Signals Notebook requires the following properties when creating a new user:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Country
- Organization
How Properties Are Populated
The email address is extracted directly from the claim provided by your IdP during the authentication process.
First Name and Last Name
When a new user logs in for the first time to a Signals Notebook tenant with Automatic User Creation enabled, they will be prompted with a dialog to manually enter their first and last names.
Country
The country value is automatically set to "USA" for all automatically created accounts. This value is not functionally used within Signals Notebook, so users outside the USA will not experience any issues.
Organization
The country value is automatically set to the default value of the tenant. This is the same as the default value that is prefilled in Country field when manually creating a new user by the System Admin through Configuration Web UI.
