Signals Notebook: Delegating limited configuration Privileges to non-admin users

In Signals Notebook, the ability to manage system configuration features as system template creation is restricted to administrators by default. However, organizations may need to delegate this responsibility to specific users without granting them full administrative access.

This article explains how administrators can assign limited configuration privileges to allow selected users to create and manage table templates.

Administrators can delegate table template creation privileges by assigning the Configuration Admin role with specific permissions:

1. Log in to the Signals Configuration system as an administrator
2. Navigate to the User Roles smart folder
3. Select the appropriate user role or create a new one
4. In the Administration tab, enable the "Manage System Templates" privilege
5. Assign this modified role to the specific users who need to create table templates

This configuration allows designated users to create and manage table templates without having full administrative access to other system functions such as user management. The permission can be assigned at the research group level, enabling group-specific template management while maintaining appropriate access controls.
