Signals allow you to update your Reagents information using the “Update from PubChem” function. By default, Signals presents some options, however, it is possible to add additional options to update using this function. To perform this action, you must follow the following steps:
Note: This guide assumes that you have previously successfully activated the “Update from PubChem” function in the material to be modified.
Access to the Signals Configuration menu.
Select the option "Materials".
In the Material Types menu, select a material of type "Reagent". For this example, we will select the option "Reagents (SNB)".
We will open the options for our material, identify the “Record definition” option, click on it, and then click on the option with the name of the material at the asset level. In this example, it will be called “Reagent.”
In the asset configuration menu, click on “+Field” and add a new field. Once the configuration is complete, it should be added to our list. In this example, we will call this new field “Sample field.”
Note: The field type will depend on the information you want to be populated. Now, back in the Material Types menu, we will select the “PubChem” option and then select the “Mapping” option for the material we are editing. In the case of this example, Reagents (SNB).
When selecting this option, we will notice that the previously created field is now available in this section. Now, we will click on "Select" and the available options will display. Select the option of your preference.
Once you have selected your option, remember to check the “Import” checkbox and click “Save.”
Upon completing this configuration, you will have successfully added a new field that can be populated with function “Update from PubChem".
